Andreas Weiden has just created a nice Java Bean to highlight the status bar in the aim of drawing the end-user attention on the new incoming message.

The status bar's background is colored, a few seconds, with a shadow effect, so that the user cannot miss the information  ;-)

The new Forms Look and Feel Project 1.6.2 version is out.

It is just a (very) minor version that corrects a few bugs and add little enhancements:

Enhancement on LAF LOVs

  • You can set some width properties on every column:

      . Default Width
      . Minimum Width
      . Maximum width

By this way, you can also hide a column by setting thoses 3 properties to zero.

  • You can let the LOV calculate its total width to display all the columns

In the LAF_PREPARE_LOVS() Program Unit, do not provide the LR$LovRec.LOV_WIDTH variable, or set it to -1

  • When you resize a column at runtime, the column is no longer sorted.

New slider dynamic item

You can, now create dynamic items as sliders.

Sometimes, I receive mails from LAF (future) users to ask me if the tool can do this or that.

I realized that, actually, there is nothing that describes, in a single document, all the functions that are part of the LAF tool.

So, I created a new page, reachable from any page of the LAF site, behind the All features list link.

Enjoy it, and discover the list of the 250+ available functions.

Forms Magnifier tool

Develop your Oracle Forms application for one screen resolution, then run it in full screen with no visual change for any other resolution!

This new commercial tool is capable of moving and scaling every Canvas and Item at runtime to fit the new window size.

It ensures that your application will have the same look whatever the screen resolution of the client machine.
