Look and Feel Project

30 décembre 2013 1 30 /12 /décembre /2013 11:41

Merry Christmas to everybody :)

This year, my present will be the Forms Resizer tool free for you!

You can use, play, modify and deploy it as you need and as you want. There is no license at all attached to it.

But, I won't continue to update, maintain it in any way, so there will not be any new version, any support, and I won't respond to any question about it.

Get the Forms Resizer tool for free there

One of the Forms-PJC-Bean site's article has just been translated in Serbo-Croatian.

Read it in your native language.

Many thanks to the translator  ;-)

Hi every Look and Feel happy user!

I would like to know if you would be interested in an embeded Instant Messaging system as a new LAF version ?

If you have something to say like Yes or No, feel free to answer the little poll I've just created on the FormsBean forum.

Many thanks in advance,

See you next time,

Francois

Using a good old Forms application on a brand new mobile? Are you kidding?

Mia Urman and Oraplayer will be presenting the full process in detail in a FREE webinar hosted by ODTUG called Take Your Oracle Forms on the Road Using ADF Mobile
“In our constant effort to show how we can achieve Oracle Forms modernization without re-development we decided to rise to the ultimate challenge and show how we can run Oracle Forms from the newly released ADF Mobile »

If you are such a Forms survivor aiming to keep in touch with in the new world, it is worthwhile to follow this event.

This version allows the developer to display video clips inside or outside the Forms application.

The video clip can be loaded from the client, an A.S. virtual directory, an Internet URL and, of course, from a database BLOB column.
The movie is played through the Quicktime Java Bean, so that the client must have QuickTime installed.

I see, more and more often, questions from people that (finally) migrate from C/S to Web Forms versions, and don't know how to display charts (feature that is no longer available in Web version).

Of course, the first point is to use the Oracle official FormsGraph Java Bean.

Another solution, that does not require lot of code, is to use the Google Chart tools. It is easy as sending an HTTP Url that returns a PNG image of the desired chart  ;-)
However, this solution requires an image item that can be populated from an Internet URL.
The Forms Look and Feel project can do it, but is a little bit heavy for those who only want to display charts, and nothing more.
So that, the Handle Image Java Beans are the right solution.

There are four versions, one that is JInitiator compatible   HandleImage I, and three that are JRE 1.4 compatible, HandleImage II, HandleImage III, and HandleImage IV.

If you want to learn the specific Google Chart syntax, you can explore the Google Chart site , but also study ready to use snippets from this interesting Web site.

Good charts !

Here is a very interesting blog entry from Mia Urman. It is a treasure for those who (don't want to) fight with that installation steps.

See particularly the "Installation & Configuration: Tips & Tricks for installing Weblogic and Oracle Forms 11g" slides.

Hello,

Here's a 8 minutes video, similar to what I presented last May (2012) at AMIS

For those who do not know, this is the OOW soon.

And for those who also do not know, Forms is not dead, It is just only very aged, and a handful of people desperately try to make it exciting.

Mia Urman is one of them, and she will talking on Tuesday, Oct 2, 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM.

During her session - Give Your Forms a Face-lift: Tips and Tricks for Oracle Forms GUI Modernization - she will do the session then they will have about a 30 minute "Ask the experts" Forms experts panel. Here their will take questions from the audience with Grant Ronald serving as the moderator and a panel of experts both solution providers and consultants.

Get there to register!
